Keto Avo Smash

No breakfast menu would be complete without a smashed avocado option, and this recipe delivers—minus the carbs!

Keto Avo Smash


Step 1. Preheat oven to 180°C

Step 2. Spray a heavy, oven-safe frying pan with olive oil, then place on a high-medium heat and cook the mushroom for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned.

Step 3. Cover and transfer the pan to the oven and cook for 10-15 minutes until mushroom is soft.

Step 4. Transfer to a serving plate, top with approx. ½ a medium avocado as well as crumbled goat cheese. Pour over any pan juices and then serve with chives, chilli flakes, salt and pepper. Serve with a squeeze of lemon if you’d like.


  • 1 spray extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 extra-large field Mushroom
  • 80g avocado, mashed
  • 50g goat cheese
  • 1 pinch chives, finely chopped
  • 1 pinch chilli flakes
  • 1 pinch sea salt
  • 1 pinch black pepper
  • 1 lemon wedge, to serve (optional)
